Student Project Earns Grand Prize in Health Challenge

Hawthorn Hill Elementary students were named a Grand Prize Winner in the Champions for Health Challenge from KC Healthy Kids!

Students were awarded a grand prize of $1200 and an honorable mention of $125 towards enhancing Hawthorn Hill Elementary’s outdoor garden space, which provides students learning opportunities and fresh food. Students were required to research a health-related challenge in their community and propose a solution, including a report on the funds needed to accomplish the project and the positive impact.
